<p class="p">2016 brachten Lexi Reed und ihr Mann Dany zusammen sage und schreibe 345 Kilogramm auf die Waage! Dass sich daran dringend etwas ändern musste, wusste auch das junge Paar aus dem US-Bundesstaat Indiana, denn das Gewicht erschwerte nicht nur den Alltag der beiden, sondern machte sich auch gesundheitlich bemerkbar: Die 25-jährige Lexi hatte immer mehr Probleme mit dem Atmen.</p>

<h2 class="title wp-block-heading" id="title_1">Lexi und Danny kochen zum ersten Mal selbst</h2>



<p class="p">Doch wie schwer das Abnehmen manchmal sein kann, wissen wohl viele. Darum beschließt Lexis beste Freundin, dem Ehepaar unter die Arme zu greifen und beim Abspecken zu helfen: Anfang 2016 fordert sie Lexi also heraus, 30 Tage lang nicht mehr auswärts essen zu gehen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt bringt die junge Frau knapp 220 Kilo auf die Waage, ihr Mann Danny stolze 127 Kilo. Zusammen verspeisten beide etwa 8.000 Kilokalorien täglich &#8211; das ist pro Person etwa doppelt so viel wie von Ernährungswissenschaftlern und Ärzten empfohlen.</p>

<p class="p">Etwas musste sich also schleunigst ändern. Der Deal mit Lexis Freundin: Vier Wochen lang keine Restaurantbesuche, kein schneller Mittagssnack am Imbiss und kein Eis zwischendurch. Das Paar begann zum ersten Mal, selbst zu kochen und sich mit den Lebensmitteln, die es zu sich nahm, auseinander zu setzen. &#8222;Als ich 220 Kilogramm gewogen habe, habe ich nie gekocht. Mein Ehemann und ich sind für so gut wie jede Mahlzeit auswärts essen gegangen, und wenn wir doch mal Zuhause gegessen haben, dann gab es Tiefkühlpizza oder etwas anderes Ungesundes,&#8220; erzählt Lexi gegenüber &#8222;ABC News&#8220;.</p>



<p class="p">Aber die Umstellung zahlt sich schnell aus. Das Paar speckt ordentlich ab. Und sie bleiben dran: Nach den 30 Tagen verfallen Lexi und Danny nicht wieder in alte Essensmuster, sondern machen weiter und denken gar nicht daran, wieder aufzugeben.</p>



<h2 class="title wp-block-heading" id="title_2">Nach einem Jahr sind Lexy und Danny 140 Kilo leichter</h2>



<p class="p">Ein Jahr lang bleibt das Paar am Ball: Lexi nimmt zu diesem Zeitpunkt täglich etwa 1.500 Kalorien zu sich, Danny isst etwas mehr als seine Partnerin. Und auch Sport spielt eine wichtige Rolle für die beiden. Das Ehepaar geht fünf bis sechs Mal pro Woche ins Fitnessstudio.</p>

<p class="p">Wie auf dem Bild zu sehen, hat sich das Dranbleiben ausgezahlt: Insgesamt haben Lexy und Danny in einem Jahr etwa 140 Kilogramm abgenommen. Das meiste davon geht auf Lexys Kappe, denn sie ist nach einem Jahr über 100 Kilo leichter. Seine Erfolgsstory dokumentiert das Paar auf Instagram und postet immer neue Bilder, auf denen die Fortschritte klar und deutlich zu erkennen sind.</p>



<p class="p">&#8222;Dies als Paar getan zu haben, hat uns auf so viele Arten geholfen&#8220;, sagt Lexy &#8222;ABC News&#8220;. &#8222;Wenn wir mal an einem Tag nicht so motiviert waren, haben wir uns gegenseitig angestachelt, ins Fitness-Studio zu gehen. Tag für Tag und Pfund für Pfund sind wir während unserer Reise enger zusammengewachsen.&#8220;</p>



<h2 class="title wp-block-heading" id="title_3">2018: So toll sieht das Paar heute aus</h2>



<p class="p">Wie Lexi und Danny heute aussehen, ist kaum zu glauben. Insgesamt hat das Paar mehr als 180 Kilo abgenommen. Aktuell isst Lexi 1.400 Kalorien am Tag und geht sechs Mal die Woche zum Sport. Natürlich ist ihr Mann Danny immer an ihrer Seite.</p>



<p class="p">Die beiden wollen mit ihrer Geschichte auch andere Abnehmwillige dazu ermutigen, etwas zu ändern. Manchmal braucht es nur eine kleine Änderung im Leben, die alles verändert.</p>
