<p class="p">Wiener Geflecht ist ein robustes Flechtwerk aus Peddigrohr oder Blättern der Rattanpalme, das durch seine besondere Flechttechnik sein klassisches Wabenmuster erhält. Das Rattan wird dabei aus sechs unterschiedlichen Strängen längs, diagonal und quer geflochten. Daraus entsteht ein natürliches Flechtwerk, was dennoch robust genug ist, um damit zum Beispiel Stühle zu bespannen.</p>

</div></figure><p class="p">Bereits seit fast 200 Jahren schmückt das natürliche Flechtwerk Möbel. Vielen von uns wird es vor allem von den alten Kaffeehausstühlen bekannt sein. Dabei handelt es sich um den sogenannten Stuhl &#8222;Nummer 14&#8220; von Thonet. Auch einige Nachfolger des Stuhls wurden von Thonet mit dem Wabengeflecht versehen und auch andere Design-Klassiker wie der Freischwinger &#8222;S 32&#8220; von Marcel Breuer setzten auf das robuste Rattangeflecht.<br>

So richtig aus der Mode gekommen ist es zwar nie. Aber aktuell feiert das Flechtwerk mit der sanften Creme-Nuance ein großes Comeback.</p>
<h2 id="title_2" class="title wp-block-heading">Wo kann man Wiener Geflecht kaufen?</h2>
<p class="p">Mittlerweile gibt es Wiener Geflecht sogar in vielen Baumärkten als Meterware zu kaufen. Damit lassen sich zum Beispiel Möbel und Deko verzieren.<br>

Ihr besitzt einen alten Stuhl dessen Sitzfläche gerissen ist? Kein Problem, häufig werden sogar komplette Sets für die Reparatur (<a href="https://amzn.to/34zLqaP" target="_blank">hier bei Amazon</a>*) angeboten, um die Bespannung von Stühlen von zum Beispiel Thonet zu erneuern. Dafür muss lediglich das alte Rattangeflecht entfernt werden bevor das neue eingespannt und befestigt werden kann.</p>

<p class="p">Bereits 2019 und 2020 fand sich das Korbgeflecht vermehrt an Möbeln und Deko wieder und feierte damit sein großes Comeback.<br>

Mittlerweile findet sich Rattan nicht nur noch an Stühlen wieder, sondern an Einrichtung jeglicher Art. Egal, ob am Kleiderschrank, Bett, Sessel, Sideboard, Lampenschirm oder an Kommoden und Küchenfronten: Wiener Geflecht macht sich durch sein zeitloses Design überall gut. Durch die natürliche Optik und Haptik sorgt es für einen Hauch Exotik in der Wohnung. Der transparente Look des Geflechts lässt Möbel zudem leichter und luftiger wirken.</p>

<p class="p">Möbel mit Wiener Geflecht sind meistens nicht gerade günstig, denn das handgefertigte Flechtwerk hat seinen Preis. Statt einen Rattanschrank zu kaufen, könnt ihr mit ein wenig Geschick selber einen machen. Das Gute: Ihr müsst dafür nicht mal einen neuen Schrank kaufen, sondern könnt auch ein Möbelstück pimpen, was ihr bereits zuhause habt. Das ist deutlicher nachhaltiger!<br>

<p class="p"><strong>Und so geht&#8217;s:</strong><br>
Zeichnet auf den Türen des Ivar-Schranks mit Bleistift einen Rahmen in der gewünschten Breite, zum Beispiel 5 cm, ein. Der Rahmen sollte nicht zu schmal werden, damit ihr später noch genug Spielraum zum Festtackern des Geflechts habt. Entlang der Markierung die Innenfläche der Türen aussägen. Die Schnittkanten mit Schmirgelpapier glatt schleifen.<br>
<br>
Wer mag, kann dem Ivar-Schrank nun auch noch einen neuen Anstrich verpassen. Weiß oder sanfte Pastelltöne sehen toll zum Geflecht aus.</p>
